Hands-On Training on the Farm for the Farm
Farm activities to take place at Holly Lane Gardens:

October 26 & 27 |
Training in Fall harvesting to include jam/jelly
making from fresh, farm produce, herbal/fruit
vinegar making, flower drying, lavender wand
braiding, planting pots of herbs for indoor use
over the winter, Fall fresh pumpkin baking. |

November 16 & 17 |
Holiday centerpiece construction, dunking of
taper candles for use in centerpieces, holiday
baking with emphasis on stuffing, duck, and all
the trimmings using farm, fresh herbs,
vegetables, fruit. |

December 7 & 8 |
Cake decorating using the flow-in technique of
creating cake tops that are dried to be used
later, holiday decorating including construction
of wreaths from the wide range of greenery on
the farm and surrounding woodland areas on the
property, international holiday baking with
emphasis on yeast breads. |

$100 per day per person (includes supplies) |

2-day weekend training on Friday and Saturday |

Trainings will be conducted by a certified, experienced
teacher. The fresh produce, flowers, herbs utilized is
grown on the property. A candle factory and commercial
kitchen also exist on this Island farm. Finished
products will be available for trainees to take with
them at the completion of each session.
The trainer is a high-spirited, energized, invigorating
person with a broad background in farming, cooking,
baking, crafting--her enthusiasm is infectious. She has
lived on the Island for 22 years and will be able to
steer trainees to local sights and businesses to
complete the enjoyment of the weekend.
